private dog training
Dogs can be very difficult animals to deal with from time to time, some breeds and types can be especially difficult to train and control even with advice from some of the best dog trainers. No mater how much time and effort you seem to be putting in, your efforts give no results and it can be extremely frustrating.

Don’t worry too much about persistently training you dog, it might not be your fault your dog is disobedient, people in different circumstances may be failing to train their dog for very simple reasons, whether it be your tone of voice, not having enough time to give your dog due to other commitments like work or hobbies, or your children throwing all the basic dog training rules out the window. Here we will try to educate you on the difference a professional dog trainer could have on your dog’s obedience, and how much it will cost.

The options available for dog training

Group dog training sessions locally – four to eight weekly 1 hour sessions for around $40 – $130 (20 – 70 pound sterling).

What you get for your money

So what do you get for your money? Many dog trainers concentrate on different areas of your dog’s obedience and you will usually get a much better service for the more money you pay although this is not always true as you might expect. Standard training classes and trainers will concentrate on addressing the chewing, barking, biting and digging aspects of your dog’s behavior. Hand signals may also be covered in dog obedience classes along with showing you, the owner how to handle trickier situations that can only be over come at home like housetraining.

General guidelines for hiring a dog trainer are to always research the dog trainers well, find out the qualifications the dog trainer has in his area of expertise or any previous recommendation and achievements they have and seek advice and information from other dog owners who have had their dogs trained previously. Get to know your trainer well before handing your dog over to him/her and make sure you are comfortable in the methods he/she uses.

How do you encourage your friendly dog not to run off with strangers or jump on them?

free dog training lessons
cyaoza asked:

I have a 17 month young West Highland Terrier who is very friendly and not afraid of anyone or other animals. It’s a fantastic trait, however how would one go about training him to not just run away. We would like to teach him this because he sometimes has broken free from his harness as he is on leash all the times so it’s more for safety and peace of mind. He’s been to puppy obedience school earlier this year, but wasn’t a good student–he always preferred to play with the other dogs or people rather than pay attention to lessons being taught . We even have trouble training him to stop jumping on people. We’ve tried all the techniques to ignore him when he tries to jump on people (e.g. turning our back) but it fails to produce any results. He has an attention span of a flea. LOL. I’d appreciate hearing of positive training reward techniques as many of the websites repeat what we’ve already found isn’t working.

All You Need To Know About House Training Your Puppy

House Training a Puppy
Is it possible to teach an senior dog new tricks? We know that a young pup can learn quicker but can an old dog still learn as much? So what is the most suitable time to start teaching our dog?

We now realise that a good deal of learning occurs when our dog is very young and the period of time from a few weeks old to five months is very important. This is when your dog will learn much of what will influence their adult behavior in later life. So actually, the earlier we start to teach our new puppies and teach them how we would like them to behave – the better things will be for everyone.

When our puppy grows up how would you like them to behave? You would love them to be well-mannered, outgoing and confident – but what are the best ways of going about this? We can teach your puppy by gently presenting them in the correct way to situations and help your puppy to like people too when they are young. It’s an accepted fact that puppies will achieve the majority of their skills and knowledge while they are at a young age, they will still keep on progressing and learn throughout their life, but at a much steadier rate.

You should make the most of the first valuable few weeks with your pup in order to give him the best start in life as well as establishing a good grounding for them. If your pup is a way beyond this stage, don’t fret – many things can still be done but may be a little more difficult to achieve. If, however your dog is showing undesirable behavior then you must take things slowly.

One of the main reasons why dogs as a pet are so successful is because they can be taught to be clean in the house. House training is usually one of the first things you will teach you puppy so you will want to get it right so your home doesn’t get in a mess and also your puppy will be learning about you.

So that you have a good basis for your puppy – you must be easy to understand as well as being consistent and clear. If however, he discovers you are unpredictable, frightening and inconsistent; his learning will be more difficult in the future.

Remember, reward him with a treat and make a good fuss of him when he does finally empty himself. Give him his treat right after he does it and don’t leave it until you are back in your house otherwise he won’t know why he is being treated.

In case he doesn’t empty himself then hang around for about five to ten minutes and do not sidetrack him. It is best to try and establish a favorite location in your yard for him to empty himself and allow him a practical time to do it – else come back inside. Keep an eye on him carefully as he will want to empty himself soon and we don’t want any mistakes. Every mistake teaches your pup the wrong habit and every time he gets it right he is learning the right way to do things.

Don’t upset your dog by punishing him as by doing so will only make him wonder why his owner are acting in such a manner. The overall success of this challenge depends of your dedication and endurance. At the end of the day be mindful that any mistakes he makes aren’t his fault.

Prevent your Dog From Barking Excessively by Using Citronella Dog Training Collars

dog training collars
Barking is a normal conduct for dogs, but it can get very exasperating for you and people around you if it turns extreme. The only thing you can do is to get large dog training collars or citronella dog training collars. Dogs own an innate impulse to bark, out of the need to notify peril or to communicate with their master and other dogs around them.

When barking becomes too much, it is necessary to retrain your dog. It is possible to do this quite easily by using citronella dog training collars. Such large dog training collars bring into play a very simple principle of psychological conditioning. This essentially means that the dog associates the undesired behavior of barking with the unpleasant effect of the citronella training collars.

Sound or vibration turn on citronella dog training collars, but because of accidental jet release due to external noise, the most reliable large dog training collars are those that use both sound and vibration to determine when the dog is barking.

There are several types of training collars, but some are very controversial. There is a possibility of using a shock collar to train a dog, but people frequently look at this method as a cruel one. Although the collar does no physical damage, as the electric current it produces is small, the real debate is about the psychological damage it can produce to your pet. The controversy and painful aspect of shock training collars have determined pet owners to get the harmless citronella training collars.

These small and large dog training collars emit a harmless jet of spray near the dog’s face that startles it, because it is cold, unexpected and fast. The spray can be odorless or have a citronella, mustard or lemon scent that is unpleasant to the dog.

Other kinds of large dog training collars include collars that aim the jet or spray onto the dog’s neck or training collars that restrict the dog’s movements only to a specific area. You can have an invisible fence around places you do not want your dog to get into, such as flowerbeds or your swimming pool.

Training your dog to stop barking or to stay only in certain areas of your yard is not at all difficult if you use small or large dog training collars. These are harmless to your dog and help it make a connection between the undesired behavior and an unpleasant sensation. The dog will soon understand that barking will cause a jet of water or unpleasant scent to burst on its face or neck.

If you want the behavior of your dog corrected, but nothing has worked, you should consider investing in a citronella dog-training collar. The price will be worth your piece of mind. You will no longer get funny looks while walking your non-stop-barking dog and the neighbors will stop complaining that your pet barks all night long without any good reason. You will be a lot happier and less stressed out and you will be able to enjoy the company of man’s best friend a lot more.

You can also use small or large dog training collars to control the movements of your dog and to stop it from digging up your flowers or vegetable patch. See all the benefits of citronella dog training collars online with our online shop that describes various kinds of small and large dog training collars.
